  Slate Falls are part of the Lower Madawaska River Provincial Park. It is one easy portage and a 10 minutes paddle to the bottom of the falls. From Quadeville take down Hyland Creek Road to the Slate Falls turnoff (N 45° 14.850 W 077° 16.369) and the rough road will bring you to a parking area to start the portage to the river. I drove all the way there in my loaded Elantra, NP. The put-in is at N 45° 14.333 W 077° 16.012. paddle up river to the Falls. Awesome spot for a picnic!!!

  Definitely not the most remote but it's surrounded by towns so that would be exceptionally elitist for someone to expect.

  My family has been camping beside and paddling on this section of the Madawaska fir fifty years. It is one of my favorite places on the world.
